Richard Pegg, BA '83 and MA'90 in Chinese and Japanese language and literature, has been an Asian art curator for the last 27 years. He is currently Asian Art Curator (since 2004) and Director of the Maclean Collection Asian art museum and separate map library in Illinois. He lectures widely and has written seven books and two dozen articles primarily on the visual art of East Asia. His most recent book is Cartographic Traditions in East Asian Maps (University of Hawai’I Press, 2017). He says that his studies at GWU were invaluable for his continuing education (Columbia University, PhD 2000) and professional career. You can listen to one of his lectures here
