Frequently Asked Questions about the Proceedings of NACCL-38
- I plan to submit my article to a journal later. Can I still submit to the proceedings?
Yes, it is common practice to submit a paper to a journal after it has appeared in conference proceedings. However, we recommend that you first consult the journal editor regarding this matter to avoid any potential complications.
- Should I write my paper in English or in Chinese?
Either language is fine.
- Are poster presentations eligible?
Yes, poster presentations are equally eligible for publication in the proceedings of NACCL-38. Please follow the same style sheet for all NACCL proceedings.
- How much may I change the content of my paper relative to my conference presentation?
Your paper should be substantively based on your conference presentation. Revisions in response to feedback from abstract reviewers and the conference audience are encouraged, but the paper and the presentation should remain clearly recognizable as the same work.
- Will submitted articles be peer-reviewed?
No. However, we strongly encourage you to incorporate comments from the abstract reviewers and from audience members at the conference.
- Will submitted articles be proofread by the editors?
No. Editors will verify conformity with the style guidelines and add standard header and footer information (e.g., conference name, page numbers). Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy and language quality of their submissions. We strongly recommend that you ask a colleague to proofread your paper before submitting.
- When will my article be published?
Articles will be published within three months of submission, following the model of the Proceedings of the Linguistic Society of America. Publication will proceed in order of receipt. We aim to publish all articles by the end of this year.
- Where will the proceedings be published?
The proceedings will be published first on our website at the George Washington University and will subsequently be available on the NACCL Proceedings webpage maintained by the Ohio State University.
- Will there be DOIs, ISBNs, or ISSNs for the articles or volumes?
We are currently exploring the most practical and cost-effective options. You are welcome to submit your article in the meantime while we continue to gather guidance on this matter.
