Students Won Silver and Bronze Awards at the 2019 Jiangsu Cup Chinese Speech Contest

At the 2019 Jiangsu Cup Chinese Speech Contest on Saturday, October 26, three of our students won a silver award and two bronze awards: Olivia G. Saunders 沈莉薇 won a Silver Award; Theo Moore-Manakas 莫新宇 won a Bronze Award; Natalie Horton 洪乐婷 won a Bronze Award.

The Jiangsu Cup Chinese Speech Contest is a major Chinese language speech competition for the Greater Washington D.C. higher education community. This year, there were 16 contestants from 7 universities including The George Washington University, Georgetown University, American University, University of Maryland, College Park, The United States Naval Academy, The College of William & Mary, and Liberty University. It was a very competitive contest. Kudos and congratulations again to our students. Thanks also go to Professor Qingming Zhou for recommending and coaching students, to Professor Hang Zhang and Professor Hongyuan Dong for coaching students.
