Any student who wishes to participate should follow these steps:

Preliminary Round

September 1 - October 13, 2016

  1. Go to Application on this website and click Application Form.

  2. Download the Form. (.docx file)

  3. Fill out Section I accurately.

  4. Send the Nomination Form to your Japanese teacher by email. Have him/her complete Section II and send it to [email protected] by October 13, 2016.

  5. Upload their entry videos by October 13, 2016. Please visit Video Guidelines under the Preliminary Round section for instructions.

Notification of successful contestants from participating schools

October 17, 2016

The Contest Committee will notify the contestants who have been selected for the Final Round.

Notification of the students' intention to participate in the Final Round

October 21, 2016

Selected contestants must notify the Contest Committee of their intention to participate in the Final Round by emailing to [email protected].

NOTE: Contestants who are not selected to compete in the Final Round are also encouraged to attend as audience.

Deadline to send required materials

November 11, 2016

Finalists must submit his/her presentation PowerPoint and a short abstract in English (150 words) to [email protected].

Final Round

November 13, 2016

The Final Round will be held at the Marvin Center Amphitheater (3rd floor), on the George Washington University campus.
