Graduate Assistantship Positions in the Chinese Program 


Graduate Assistantships (GAs) in the Chinese Program, Department of East Asian Languages & Literatures are available to qualified GW graduate students.  Primary duties include: assisting with instruction, leading drill/discussion sections, giving individual tutorials, evaluating student written and oral work, and regular meetings with the head instructor. Depending on the position offered, a GA is expected to commit 10 or 15 hours per week (mostly Mon-Thu).

Qualifications: Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese (with standard Mandarin pronunciation) and in English. Classroom teaching experience is also desired. Graduate students who already have a GW campus position are not eligible.

Required application materials: 1) Résumé in both Chinese and English, 2) one-page self-introduction in Chinese (hand written only, scanned copy or a photo), and 3) self-introduction video in both English and Chinese, up to 2 minutes, via a web link to your video.
