On July 27, 2013, Young-Key Kim-Renaud, Professor of Korean Language and Culture and International Affairs and Chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, recited her poem entitled "I Remember," describing her experience of the War in the pre-ceremony program at the ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended the Korean war, attended by President Barack Obama and more than 7,000 Korean War veterans from all over the world and their families, friends, and supporters, at the Korean War Memorial on the National Mall, Washington, DC.
